Learn English Present Perfect Continuous Tense in Urdu and Hindi

Present Perfect Continuous Tense

This tense involves mentioning of time in a sentence. The time is specified by using either Since or For.

"Since" is used with point of time.
e.g. 2010,2015, January, June, Monday, Thursday, Morning, Evening,etc.

"For" is used with period of time.
e.g. 5 years, 2 years, 2 months, 8 months, 4 days, 6 days, two hours, three hours,etc.

》Identification (Pehchan):

The end of an Urdu or Hindi sentence contains:
1) Ta raha hai e.g.
Woh subha se cricket khelta raha hai. (Singular+Male)

2) Ti rahi hai e.g.
Woh subha se cricket khelti rahi hai. (Singular+Female)

3) Te rahe hain e.g.
Ali aur Akbar subha se cricket khelte rahe hain. (Plural)

4) Ta raha hun e.g.
Main subha se cricket khelta raha hun. (Singular)

》Form of Verb (Fel ki Surat):


First form of verb (V-I) with ing.
e.g.
Play+ing=Playing

》Helping Verb(H.V.) (Imdaadi Fel):


Have Been ->I, We, You, They+Plural Noun

Has Been ->He, She, It + Singular Noun


》Formula:

Simple Sentences:

In English:
Subject+H.V.+V-I+ing+Object+Since/for+time+.
He Has been Playing Football since morning.

In Urdu/Hindi:
Sub+time+se+Object+Verb+Helping Verb.
Woh subha se Football khelta raha hai.

More examples:
He has been watching T.V. for two hours. (Woh 2 ghanton se T.V. dekhta raha hai.)

They have been reading books since 11'O clock.
(Woh 11 baje se kitabein parhte rahe hain.)

The bird has been flying since morning. (Parindah subha se urta raha hai.)


Negative Sentences:

In English:
Sub+Have/has+Not+been+V-I+ing+Obj+since/for+time+.
They have not been cooking food since evening.

In Urdu/Hindi:
Sub+time+se+Obj+Nahi+Verb+H.V.
Woh sham se khana nahi pakate rahe hain.

More examples:
He has not been driving a car for two months.
(Woh 2 mahino se car nahi chalata raha hai.)

She has not been going to college for four days.
(Woh chaar dino se college nahi jati rahi hai.)

I have not been plucking flowers since last year.
(Main pichle saal se phool nahi torta raha hun.)

Aslam and Akbar have not been operating computer since june. (Aslam aur Akbar june se computer nahi chalate rahe hain.)

He has not been writing a letter for 8 months. (Woh 8 mahino se khat nahi likhta raha hai.)


Interrogative Sentences
(Question Sentences):

In English:
Have/Has+Sub+been+V-I+ing+Obj+since/for+time+?
Have they been cooking food since evening?

In Urdu/Hindi:
Kiya+Sub+time+se+Obj+Verb+H.V.+?
Kiya Woh sham se khana pakate rahe hain?

More examples:
Has he been driving a car for two months?
( Kiya woh 2 mahino se car chalata raha hai?)

Has she been going to college for four days?
(Kiya Woh chaar dino se College jati rahi hai?)

Have Aslam and Akbar been operating computer since june?
( Kiya Aslam aur Akbar june se computer chalate rahe hain?)

( Kiya Woh 8 mahino se khat likhta raha hai?)
