        An Introduction to all 12 Tenses

Tense:- 
It has been derived from a Latin word 'Tempus' which means "Time" or "Age".


There are three main branches of Tense i,e;
1-Past Tense =4
(Maazi)
(Guzra hua waqt)

2-Present Tense =4
(Haal)
(Maujuda waqt)

3-Future Tense =4
(Mustaqbil)
(Aane wala waqt)

Total Tenses =12

• These three branches are further divided into 12 sub-branches.
1-Past Tense

(i) Past Indefinite Tense
(ii) Past Continuous Tense
(iii) Past Perfect Tense
(iv) Past Perfect Continuous Tense

2-Present Tense

(i) Present Indefinite Tense
(ii) Present Continuous Tense
(iii) Present Perfect Tense
(iv) Present Perfect Continuous Tense

3-Future Tense

(i) Future Indefinite Tense
(ii) Future Continuous Tense
(iii) Future Perfect Tense
(iv) Future Perfect Continuous Tense


In order to learn tenses we need to know a bit about Parts of Speech

Noun:
The name of a person, place or thing is called a noun.
For example: Ali, School, Book,etc.


Sentence:
A group of words which gives a clear and complete meaning is called a sentence.
For example:
He plays cricket. (Woh cricket khelta hai.)

Phrase:
A group of words which does not give a clear and complete meaning is called a phrase.
For example:
Plays cricket. (Cricket khelta hai.)
These words don't give complete meaning as they lack mentioning of the person who is playing.

Subject:
The doer of an action is called a subject.
e.g. He plays cricket.
"He" (Woh) is the subject of this sentence

Verb:
The word showing an action in a sentence is called a verb.
e.g. He plays cricket.
"Plays" (Khelna) is the verb of this sentence.
There are three forms of verb
1st Form 2nd Form 3rd Form
Write Wrote Written
Play Played Played

Object:
The word on which the action is done is called an object.
e.g. He plays cricket.
"Cricket" is the object of the sentence.

Pronoun:
The word used in the place of a noun is called a pronoun.
e.g. Ali is a player. He plays cricket.
(Ali aik khelari hai. Woh cricket khelta hai.)
Ali (Noun) is replaced by He (Pronoun) in above sentences.

There are different cases of a Pronoun

Subjective Possessive Objective

He(Woh) His(Uska) Him(Usse)

She(Woh) Her(Uski) Her(Usse)

We(Hum) Our(Hamara) Us(Hamein)

They(Woh) Their(Unka) Them(Unhein)


Preposition:
The word describing the position of a person, place or thing is called a preposition.
e.g. He is playing cricket in the ground.
(Woh maidan mein cricket khel raha hai.)
"in" (mein) is the preposition of this sentence.
