Past Perfect Tense

》Identification (Pehchan):

The end of an Urdu or Hindi sentence contains:
1) Chuka tha e.g.
Woh cricket khel chuka tha. (Singular+Male)

2) Chuki thi e.g.
Woh cricket khel chuki thi. (Singular+Female)

3) Chuke the e.g.
Ali aur Akbar cricket khel chuke the. (Plural)

4) Chuka tha e.g.
Main cricket khel chuka tha. (Singular)

》Form of Verb (Fel ki Surat):

》Helping Verb(H.V.) (Imdaadi Fel):

Had is the only helping verb and is used with all nouns and pronouns
e.g. I, We, You, They, He, She, It+all other.

Simple Sentences:

In English:
Subject+H.V.+V-III+Object+.
He had Played Football.

In Urdu/Hindi:
Subject+Object+Verb+H.V.+.
Woh Football khel chuka tha.

More examples:
He had watched T.V. (Woh T.V. Dekh chuka tha.)

They had read books. (Woh kitabein parh chuke the.)

The bird had flown in the air. (Parindah hawa mein ur chuka tha.)

Negative Sentences:

In English:
Subject+H.V.+Not+V-III+Object+.
They had not cooked food.

In Urdu/Hindi:
Subject+Object+Nahi+Verb+H.V.+.
Woh khana nahi paka chuke the.

More examples:
He had not driven a car. (Woh car nahi chala chuka tha.)

She had not gone to college. (Woh College nahi ja chuki thi.)

Aslam and Akbar had not operated computer. (Aslam aur Akbar computer nahi chala chuke the.)

He had not written a letter. (Woh aik khat nahi likh chuka tha.)


Interrogative Sentences
(Question Sentences):

In English:
Helping Verb+Subject+V-III+Object+?
Had they cooked food?

In Urdu/Hindi:
Kiya+Subject+Object+Verb+H.V.+?
Kiya Woh khana paka chuke the?

More examples:
Had he driven a car? ( Kiya woh car chala chuka tha?)

Had she gone to college? (Kiya Woh College ja chuki thi?)

Had Aslam and Akbar operated computer? ( Kiya Aslam aur Akbar computer chala chuke the?)
