Present Indefinite Tense

》Identification (Pehchan):

The end of an Urdu or Hindi sentence contains:
1) Raha hai e.g.
Woh cricket khelraha hai. (Singular+Male)

2) Rahi hai e.g.
Woh cricket khelrahi hai. (Singular+Female)

3) Rahe hain e.g.
Ali aur Akbar cricket khelrahe hain. (Plural)

4) Raha hun e.g.
Main cricket khelraha hun. (Singular)

》Form of Verb (Fel ki Surat):

First form of verb (V-I) with ing.
e.g.
Play+ing=Playing

》Helping Verb(H.V.) (Imdaadi Fel):

Are -> We, You, They+Plural Noun
Am -> I
Is -> He, She, It + Singular Noun

》Formula:

Simple Sentences:

In English:
Subject+Helping Verb+V-I+ing+Object+.
He is Playing Football.

In Urdu/Hindi:
Subject+Object+Verb+Helping Verb.
Woh Football khel raha hai.

More examples:
He is watching T.V. (Woh T.V. dekh raha hai.)

They are reading books. (Woh kitabein parh rahe hain.)

The bird is flying in the air. (Parindah hawa mein ur raha hai.)

Negative Sentences:

In English:
Subject+H.V.+Not+V-I+ing+Object+.
They are not cooking food.

In Urdu/Hindi:
Subject+Object+Nahi+Verb+H.V.
Woh khana nahi paka rahe hain.

More examples:
He is not driving a car. (Woh car nahi chala raha hai.)

She is not going to college. (Woh College nahi ja rahi hai.)

I am not plucking flowers. (Main phool nahi torr raha hun.)

Aslam and Akbar are not operating computer. (Aslam aur Akbar computer nahi chala rahe hain.)

He is not writing a letter. (Woh aik khat nahi likhraha hai.)

Interrogative Sentences
(Question Sentences):

In English:
H.V.+Subject+V-I+ing+Object+?
Are they cooking food?

In Urdu/Hindi:
Kiya+Subject+Object+Verb+H.V.+?
Kiya Woh khana paka rahe hain?

More examples:
Is he driving a car? ( Kiya woh car chala raha hai?)

Is she going to college? (Kiya Woh College ja rahi hai?)

Are Aslam and Akbar operating computer? ( Kiya Aslam aur Akbar computer chala rahe hain?)

Is he writing a letter? ( Kiya Woh aik khat likh raha hai?)

Interrogative Negative Sentences:

In English:
H.V.+Subject+not+V-I+ing+Object+?

In Urdu/Hindi:
Kiya+Subject+Object+nahi+Verb+H.V.+?

》Rules of Present Progressive Tense

Rule # 1:
The verb ending with letter "e" is modified by replacing "e" with "ing".
e.g. Write+ing=Writing

Rule # 2:
The verbs having a single syllable are modified by doubling the last letter and adding "ing" in the end.
e.g.
Run+ing=Running
Sit+ing = Sitting

Rule # 3:
The verbs ending with letters "ie" are modified by replacing "ie" with "y" and adding "ing" in the end.
Tie+ing =Tying
Lie+ing =Lying
